Abstract : The present investigation proposes: design of the Preservation Plan for the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Prince San Miguel Festival, Salcedo canton, Cotopaxi province; with the aim of conserving, preserving, promoting and promulgating the cultural events that are present in this festivity. It began with the registration of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the festival, using registration cards suggested by the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC), a total of 23 cultural manifestations was obtained, 5 correspond to the field of oral traditions and expressions, 8 arts of the show, 4 social uses, rituals and festive events, 5 knowledge and uses related to nature and the universe and a manifestation that corresponds to the field of traditional craft techniques, in addition 24 typical characters are identified, which are detailed in the registration sheet (table XL.1.7). The SWOT matrix was elaborated with the principal actors of the festival and members of the GAD municipal of Salcedo canton, which allowed to identify the critical knots and main factors of success existing in the festival, with this information, strategic objectives were proposed, which form the basis for the development of the Safeguard Plan, which has 4 programs and 10 projects focused on the main axes of preservation, conservation, revitalization, transmission and revitalization. It is concluded that the Protection Plan constitutes a technical instrument for the Salcedences to promote the conservation and communication of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Prince San Miguel Festival, declared in June 2018, as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation; for being a manifestation that is passed on from generation to generation and that is gifted with representativeness by the Sanmigueleño people. Resumen : La presente investigación propone: diseño del Plan de Salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la fiesta del Príncipe San Miguel, cantón Salcedo, provincia de Cotopaxi; con la finalidad de mantener, preservar, promocionar y difundir las manifestaciones culturales que están presentes en esta festividad. Inició con el registro del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la festividad, utilizando fichas de registro propuestas por el Instituto Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural (INPC), se obtuvo un total de 23 manifestaciones culturales, 5 corresponden al ámbito de tradiciones y expresiones orales, 8 artes del espectáculo, 4 usos sociales, rituales y actos festivos, 5 conocimientos y usos relacionados con la naturaleza y el universo y una manifestación que corresponde al ámbito de técnicas artesanales tradicionales, además se identificaron 24 personajes característicos, que se encuentran detallados en la ficha de esta fiesta (tabla XI.17). Junto con los actores clave de la festividad y miembros del GAD municipal del cantón Salcedo, se elaboró la matriz FODA, que permitió identificar los nudos críticos y factores claves de éxitos presentes en la festividad, con esta información se procedió al planteamiento de objetivos estratégicos y estrategias que constituyen la base para la elaboración del Plan de Salvaguardia, el mismo que cuenta con 4 programas y 10 proyectos enfocados a los principales ejes de la salvaguardia, la conservación, revitalización, transmisión y dinamización. Se concluye que el Plan de Salvaguardia constituye un instrumento técnico para que los salcedenses impulsen la conservación y transmisión del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la fiesta del Príncipe San Miguel, declarada en el mes de junio del 2018, como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Nación, por ser una manifestación que se transmite de generación en generación y que es dotada de representatividad por el pueblo sanmigueleño.
