Abstract : The present investigation had as General Objective; determine the relationship of the Nutritional State through biochemical parameters (gestational hemoglobin) with the weight and length of the newborn. Cross-descriptive character, correlational analytical, with design and retrolective modality, with a quantitative approach, we used the data registered in SISVAN 2016 of Health District 06d05 Guano-Penipe, with a sample of 505 children. In pregnant mothers, an average of 11.61 g / dl hemoglobin and a BMI of 24.34 Kg / m2, in neonates are women (53.7%) and (46.3%) are men. In relation to the nutritional status of the mother with the length and weight of the newborn it was found that mothers with a BMI of overweight / obesity had higher births (50.14 ± 1.76 cm) but with lower weight ( 2.94 ± 0.40 kg), compared to mothers who had a normal BMI. By relating the hemoglobin of the mother to the weight and length of the newborn it is observed that there is no statistically significant relationship between these variables. What is evidenced is that the weight and length of newborns are influenced by several physiological factors and not only by hemoglobin. So the hypothesis is rejected. There is an inversely proportional relationship between the variables weight at birth and the BMI of the mother (significance = 0.038 and correlation = -0.136) with the variables, length and weight of the newborn, (significance = 0.046 and correlation = -0.131) in the sex male. It is recommended to monitor and monitor the anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary variables to analyze their behavior and their impact on nutritional status.
