Abstract : The objective was to evaluate by biological tests "in vivo", in Mus musculus mice, the anti-inflammatory activity of the dichloromethane-methanol extract of Aristeguietia glutinosa (AGDCMMMM). Aristeguietia glutinosa whose common name is Matíco, the traditional use gives the leaves their own properties such as: healing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, antitussive, antibacterial and anti fungal. Once collected the plant material was dried and crushed. To obtain the extracts, the crushed leaves were macerated weighing 300g with 97% ethanol and 500g with hexane, after 48 hours it was refrigerated and filtered, then it was concentrated in a vacuum rotary evaporator under controlled conditions at a temperature of 40 ° C to obtain the concentrated extracts, the plant material residue of the hexane extract was finally used, placing dichloromethane-methanol (1: 1) and repeating the above process to obtain a concentrated extract. Total flavonoids were measured spectrophotometrically through the Aluminum Trichloride method, obtaining the following results: 16.69 ± 0.031 mg EQ / 10mg of dichloromethane-methanol extract, 12.74 ± 0.045 mg EQ / 10mg extract, of ethanolic extract and 12.10 ± 0.027 mg EQ / 10mg of the hexane extract of Aristeguietia glutinosa. The phenols were determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu method, resulting in the following values: 37.82 ± 0.007 mg EAG / 10mg of dichloromethane-methanol extract, extract 16.80 ± 0.002 mg EAG / 10mg of ethanol extract and 8.98 ± 0.009 mg EAG / 10mg of the hexane extract of Aristeguietia glutinosa. The anti-inflammatory activity test was carried out by the plantar edema and air pouch methods using carrageenan as an irritant. As a result, it is evident that in both methods, the AGDCMMMM extract produces a reduction in inflammation, observing a greater effect in treated mice at a concentration of 30mg / kg. In conclusion, it can be indicated that at least one of the beneficial properties traditionally attributed to Aristeguietia glutinosa (matico) was scientifically proven, which may be due to the high concentration of flavonoids and phenols that it possesses.
