Optimización del proceso logístico de la bodega de materiales de la Empresa Halley Corporación con la aplicación de herramientas Lean Management.

Abstract

Optimizing the logistics processes of the materials warehouse at the Halley Corporation company with the application of Lean Management tools, through the development of the 5S methodology, EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) and descriptive statistics in order to develop an efficient management system to improve inventory control and minimize costs. This project begins with data collection on a range of variables that influence the material processes and inventory management through surveys and historical facts review to quantify and statistically assess the current state, with the Minitab 15 software the projected sales were calculated, two methods were used; the simple moving average method and the exponential smoothing method, the sample size was determined with a 95% confidence level and as a standard deviation of 130 units, the inventory management system was developed based on the EOQ technique and taking into account the ABC classification defining optimal inventory policies. The level of compliance with the 5S methodology was increased by 36%. Through the indicator of economic value of inventory (EVI) The cost of investment in stored merchandise decreased by 39% and the level of service increased from 78.57% to 87.5% in the study period. Through the ABC classification it was determined that three products (studs, anchors and safety catches) of the aluminum line generate 76% of the costs of keeping stock, which represents $ 81,865.80 per year, it was evaluated how much the company would save if using the Inventory management system under the parameters of the EOQ technique and the Halley corporation would save $ 42,406.48 annually. Some Research is strongly recommended based on logistics-oriented improvement projects.
