Propuesta de un sistema de gestión de inventarios para el Cuerpo de Bomberos del GADM de Riobamba

Abstract

This research originated with the aim of proposing an inventory management system through the implementation of the ABC method and other strategies that allow and contribute to the effective management and storage of goods in the Fire Department Winery of the city of Riobamba. The research approach was mixed combining the quantitative and qualitative approach, among the main techniques used are the survey, interview and observation, tools that allowed to obtain truthful and relevant information to diagnose the current situation of inventory management and identify the main problems within the warehouse area. After applying the corresponding techniques and instruments, it was detected that in the area of the winery there is disorder, lack of signals and coding, presence of several obsolete products, so in a first phase the 5S Japanese method to generate order, cleanliness and discipline was implemented, another of the problems was the large number of products that exists hindering the control and administration , because of this, the ABC method was finally executed, the lack of planning in purchases was a factor that highlighted why it was decided to create purchasing policies and standardize the processes to solve the problem. At the conclusion of the work, the methods of control, the location and distribution of the products, the methods of purchasing planning, the processes and policies to be followed in the warehouse were identified, and even the inventory situation was analyzed through the use of indicators.
