Plan integral de señalización y semaforización vial del cantón Mera, provincia de Pastaza

Abstract

The objective of the titling work was to propose a comprehensive road signaling and traffic signaling plan through a technical study aimed at reducing the accident rate and vehicular mobility in the Mera canton, Pastaza province, through a diagnosis of the current situation with a focus on the broken parameters in the Ecuadorian Technical Regulation INEN 004-01:2011, INEN 004-02:2011, INEN 004:2012 part 5, for the collection of information, observation sheets and vehicle gauging were adapted, the same instruments that helped to show the deficient and scarce vertical and horizontal signage of the roads studied, the volume of the intersection, time of maximum demand, the geometry of the road, as well as the phases and traffic light cycle were identified. Technical strategies will be established through the use of a SWOT analysis such as the construction of vertical and horizontal signage in addition to the maintenance schedule in the different urban and rural parishes of the canton, campaigns, national and international seminars, awareness capacity through a recreational park focused on in road safety, training on the standard is scheduled for the operational team as well as the technical study on signalized intersections, presenting the redesign of traffic light cycles to reduce intersection delays by 26% on Av. Luis Jácome and November 10 and 15% on av. Luis Jacome and Vilen Kubes. It is recommended to the EP Mera and Trans community of GAD to implement the following comprehensive road signaling and traffic light plan to strengthen and instill values that promote the use of traffic signals as well as safeguard the safety of pedestrians and drivers.
