Estudio de las características de un neumático nuevo de comercialización nacional mediante ensayos establecidos en la Norma NTE INEN 2097:2012

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the behavior of a new tire available in the Ecuadorian market, which has the following characteristics: inexpensive and little-known brand in the country. It was analyzed their development, and it was examined the compliance with the established parameters in the SAE standard. The investigation was carried out through a verification analysis of the conditions to which the tire was submitted. This process was carried out in an accredited laboratory located in Quito city. The test consisted of subjecting the tire to a constant speed and varying the loads applied on it in different periods. This process was carried out taking into account the established parameters by the NTE INEN 2097-2012 standard since the tire complies with the technical competence for the execution of the tests. Once the tests were developed in the laboratory taking into consideration the tire pressure and physical condition. The laboratory delivered a final report and thus it was possible to obtain results through descriptive and qualitative analysis. Through the specifications of the standard, it was verified whether the tire met expectations or failed during the test. It is concluded that a tire of an unwell known brand and cheap is capable of complying with each of the tests established in the standard. So it can be referred to the competent entities' certification of the tire for its sale within the Ecuadorian territory. A very important part of the test was to take into account all the parameters established by the standard, as well as to know the nomenclature, and the conditions at which the tire would work.
