Abstract

The feasibility study about the production and commercialization of the "Rainbow Trout" in the Alshi / 9 de Octubre Parish, in Morona Canton, was carried out with the objective of determining if the creation of the plant is feasible, providing the possibility of new sources of employment and the economic development of this sector. In the methodology to develop the study, a qualitative and quantitative research approach was used, surveys were applied to the main producers and consumers head of households in order to determine certain points such as tastes, preferences, the degree of acceptance, In addition, it was possible to determine the current market demand and supply. Through the market study it was determined that there is an unsatisfied demand of 62,154 units of trout in Morona canton, from which it is intended to cover 90% that represents 55,938 trout annually. The financial study determined that once the plant has been implemented, a Net Present Value of USD $76,575.36 will be obtained with an internal rate of financial return of 17.92% and a benefit/cost ratio of 1.31, that is, by For each dollar invested, a profit of 0.31 cents will be obtained, so the investment will be recovered in a period of 4 years. According to the data obtained, it can be determined that the project is feasible, because a high percentage of acceptability was determined by the respondents. It is recommended to start the project, looking for better financing options and suppliers of both raw material and machinery for the respective execution
