Diseño de un ecolodge bajo criterios de bioconstrucción y permacultura para la finca Procel, parroquia Sangay, cantón Palora, Morona Santiago.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to design the implementation of an Ecolodge under bioconstruction and permaculture criteria for the Procel Farm, Sangay parish, Palora canton, Morona Santiago. This study exposed a vernacular architecture design adapted to bioclimatic construction under the principles of good sustainable tourism practices. The project was achieved through a previous analysis of the farm's diagnosis and demand that was carried out through a participatory process where primary and secondary information was collected through field trips. Subsequently, the technical design of the infrastructure, services, activities, and tourist facilities was developed according to the corresponding regulations and taking into account the criteria proposed by the Rainforest Alliance and the natural and cultural conditions of the environment. To determine the environmental feasibility of this design an environmental impact study was carried out using the Lázaro Lagos matrix where the activities that could have an impact on the environment were identified and evaluated. In the same sequence, the economic-financial study was developed taking into account the needs of each area of the project to measure its profitability. As a result, the technical design of a tourist plant was carried out, where five areas destined for lodging and food services, natural and cultural recreational activities, and operational environmental management are distributed. In addition, 3 tourist packages were designed with their respective itineraries and costs. The environmental study was feasible because it showed a negligible negative impact and the financial study determined that the initial investment will be $467,331.16 and the payback period will be in the third year of the project. It is concluded that the project is environmentally and socioeconomically viable. It is recommended that the proposal be complemented with community agroforestry projects.
