Evaluación productiva y económica del engorde de cerdos en sistema de traspatio, suplementados con papa cruda y deshidratada (Solanum tuberosum).

Abstract

The aim of the present research was to evaluate the productive and economic levels for the supplementation of raw and dehydrated potato used as the feeding product in pig farming. The treatments used for the development of the research were T0 (Manufactured food + kitchen’s leftovers), TI (Manufactured food + raw potato), T2 (Manufactured food + dehydrated potato). A totally random design was applied (DCA) with four repetitions, the experimental sample was a pig of white Belgian-York breeding. Moreover, data obtained from this investigation was tabulated using the excel programme2019, as well as, the statistical programme infostad2020; the statistical techniques used for the analysis were variance analysis (ADEVA), separation of means through the Tukey method at significance levels of (P ≤ 0,05). Amongst the results obtained in weight variables from 30 to 60 days, daily and total weight gain and feed conversion during the fattening period did not experiment significant differences between the treatments. In relation to the variables of daily and total consumption treatment T2 showed values of 3.28 Kg y 196,98 Kg respectively. Moreover, in proportion the profitability of T1 showed a cost-benefit ratio of 1.52 which means that each dollar in investment resulted in a profitability of 0,52 cents. Therefore, it is concluded that it is possible to generate good results with the implementation of either of the treatments proposed in this research, however, it is recommended the use of the raw potato supplement, due to the fact that it showed a better cost-benefit ratio in comparison to the others.
