Evaluación de niveles de alfarina en la alimentación de cuyes en las etapas de gestación y lactancia en el criadero La Libertad del cantón Ambato.

Abstract

The present work aimed to evaluate the different levels of alfarine in the feeding of guinea pigs in the stages of gestation and lactation in La Libertad farm of Ambato canton. The methodology that was used were 40 guinea pigs of the improved line with an average weight of 1025.65g. The effect of alfarine was evaluated with different levels (5, 10 and 15%), in pregnant and lactating females to be compared with a control treatment without alfarine supply. The experimental units were classified or distributed with a completely randomized design with 10 repetitions per treatment, the experimental data that were obtained were subjected to the following statistical analyses with the separation of means of the treatments, based on the Tukey test at a level of significance (P<0.05) and with regression analysis and correlation of the variables that present significance. The results that did not present significant differences in the variables final weight, weight gain, consumption of concentrate and fodder, litter size at birth, weight of the offspring at birth and weight of the litter at birth, size of the litter at weaning 3.10 offspring, weight of the offspring at weaning 0.82 kg and weight of the litter at weaning 2:55 kg T2 presented better responses. It was concluded that the best parameters are presented by the animals of the T2 with a greater size of the litter at weaning 3.10 offspring, weight of the offspring at weaning 0.82 kg. weight of the litter at weaning 2.55 kg. It is recommended to add 10.0% alfarine in the preparation of feed for guinea pigs.
