Diseño de una cicloruta turística en la parroquia San Luis, cantón Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This project aimed to design a tourist bike path in the town of San Luis, city of Riobamba, province of Chimborazo. So, the analysis of supply and demand was carried out, determining the natural attractions and the services to be offered. The selection of the sample began with the determination of the study universe of the economically active population of the cities of the province of Chimborazo. Competitiveness was carried out by analyzing the three similar routes within the province in which distance, packages, natural and cultural attractions. During the design of the bike path, maps were created with base information from the National Geographic System and field trips were made to identify the points considered to be risky or attractive areas for tourists. The analysis of the environmental factors that were affected by the implementation of the bike path was determined by the means of the Lagos matrix. It was determined that the San Luis bike path was considered only within the town with a route of 8,173 km, showing an easy degree of difficulty, typology of children or beginners mountain bikers. This place also included three cultural manifestations and two natural attractions. It is concluded that the financial evaluation determined a positive NPV (1655.99) and an IRR of 20.53%, showing that income is higher than net expenses. The application of strategic plans is recommended to know the generation of profits from the bike path.
