“Plan estratégico para el entorno operacional del transporte público intraprovincial de pasajeros de la provincia de Chimborazo. periodo 2022-2026”

Abstract

The present Degree Project called "Strategic Plan for the Operational Environment of the Intra provincial Public Transportation of Passengers in the Province of Chimborazo, period 2022- 2026" has as its primary objectives; To propose the relocation of the existing intra-provincial terminals in the cantons of Riobamba and Chambo, to suggest the implementation of direct intra-provincial transport frequencies for the cantons of Pallatanga and Cumandá, and to promote the creation of Intra-provincial Land Terminals in the cantons of Alausí and Guamote. This research was carried out through surveys, interviews, and field observation, showing that the province of Chimborazo has two intra-provincial terminals, which are located in a location that is not favorable for mobility in the cantons. In addition, there is no adequate planning since direct routes to and from the cantons of Pallatanga and Cumandá have not been considered. To analyze this general proposition, we focused the plan on three strategies: Integrate all operators, Improve accessibility and Management of standards. Through the proposed project, we seek to promote the entry of 100% of the transport operators to the existing terminals with assigned frequencies in the cantons in question, reduce 100% of the current informal stops in the cantons of Riobamba and Chambo, reduce the vehicular congestion they generate, satisfy the needs of the population through the creation of natural frequencies to and from the cantons of Pallatanga and Cumandá, provide security to the users of these cantons when traveling without having to resort to different systems, and improve the quality of the system. The strategic plan focuses on increasing the number of passengers boarding and alighting at the terminals, feeding the different alternative transportation systems in each canton, and implementing an intra-provincial transportation service for the cantons of Pallatanga and Cumandá.
