Implementación del manual de seguridad para la identificación, evaluación y control de los riesgos laborales existentes en los talleres del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado de la provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The aim of this work was to implement the safety manual for the identification, evaluation, and control of existing occupation hazards in the pair shop area of Riobamba. With the help of these documents, the safety manual was designed by applying the William Fine method, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) method, the NTP 750 standard, Executive Decree No. 2393 and the ISTAS 21 tool, where qualitative values were obtained and contrasted with the INSHT general risk assessment method. Once the manual was approved, it was socialized and applied to the 11 workstations, using as resources; previous evaluations of existing peripherals, photographs and videos taken, measuring equipment such as sound and light meters and pieces of software. As a result, a total of 205 risks were found. According to INSHT, 161 were trivial, 41 were tolerable and 3 were moderate. Subsequently, the recommended procedure sheets were prepared, including the characteristics and details of signage, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and references according to the institution's format, to be delivered to the Coordinator of the UG SSO for their respective management. Finally, there was a 47.7% improvement in the working conditions of administrative and operational workers in the study area. It is recommended that the technicians use the tool “Safety Manual for the Identification, Evaluation, and Control of existing occupational hazards in the repair shops area of the Provincial Government of Chimborazo”, in the order to improve, keep an adequate historical record as well as to follow all the evaluations with the same guidelines.
