Inventario de atractivos turísticos y tipificación de espacios turísticos del cantón Guano, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

Guano canton does not have an updated and validated inventory of tourist attractions, a fundamental requirement for the renewal of the Magical Towns of Ecuador-4 Worlds declaration, the deficient information on the tourist attractions has generated the visitants total lack of knowledge of the tourist potential, it is also a reason for incorrect planning and management of tourism, therefore, the objetive of this research was “To develop and update the inventory of tourist attractions for the definition of tourist areas in Guano canton”, Chimborazo province, year 2023.The methodology implemented had an exploratory and descriptive approach, the Manual of Tourist Attractions of the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador was used, complying with the two established stages, in stage one we proceeded with the collection of primary information on the tourist resources for subsequent análisis through the weighting and ranking of the attractions, in stage two corresponding to the generation of tourist spaces we proceeded to identify and associate the attractions in the territorial space for the definition of typologies of tourist spaces. Through this methodology, 62 tourist attractions of different hierarchies were identified at the cantonal level, and according to the characteristics of the territorial space, the type of tourist space corresponding to a “Distribution Center” was determined. In this context, it is concluded that the Guano canton does not have an updated inventory of tourist attractions, which has caused a deficient tourist development, so it is proposed to develop and update the inventory of tourist attractions that allows the development of tourism in an efficient way.
