Abstract

The 80% of duck egg production is developed in China, traditionally consumed for health effects and high nutrients it has, in Latin American countries the consumption of duck eggs is not rooted, the minimal production on a national scale, in addition to the limited access in the markets and the lack of nutritional knowledge by people, allowed the development of this research, therefore, the objective of the research work was to design a project to create a poultry plant producing duck eggs in Tena city of Napo province, year 2022. The methodology implemented had a bibliographic/documentary, exploratory and descriptive approach for the development of all the content. Through the market study and support of the surveys, it was possible to know the demand for the product. This information made it possible to know the supply of the product and its reception in the traditional market, taking into account that Tena city does not have a company offering this duck egg food. Taking into account the technical, administrative, legal and environmental study, it is necessary to highlight the environmental study that reflects the consequences of the project and the importance of being environmentally friendly while maintaining sustainable conditions. It is concluded that the economic-financial study allowed to know the feasibility and profitability of the poultry project, determining the most appropriate capital structure, through the projection of the income statement and cash flows has achieved an NPV of $253,428.72 and an IRR of 35.70%, with an investment recovery time of 3 years.
