Cuento ilustrado sobre los síntomas de la depresión infantil.

Abstract

The aim of this research is the creation of an illustrated story using manual and digital illustration techniques, to report to children from 6 to 7 years old about the symptoms of childhood depression. By means of bibliographic research, we identified the symptoms of childhood depression, conducted interviews to professionals in the area of child psychology, educational pedagogical area and parents with children diagnosed with depression. The different symptoms of childhood depression in children from 6 to 7 years old were classified according to the level of similarity and recurrence of the symptoms. We used questionnaires with specific questions according to the area, this information was helpful for the development, the context and literary script. In addition, it was determined that the story should be preventive, using a basic language so that children can understand. We used observation cards to make a general analysis of social and emotional stories for children from 6 to 7 years old and a more detailed analysis of every 3 double pages of the selected stories, defining the graphic style, making manual sketches, digitizing them using drawing and editing software, the basic structure, single column layout and chromatic with warm and cold colors according to the setting of the scene, and finally a readable typography, without serif and with a standard size font. Illustrated children's stories are a very important means of communication for children in their development, because they help children to connect with the story immediately. For this purpose, it is always recommended to take into account the information about the theme, the structure and styles and most importantly the target to whom it is addressed, always taking into account the main objective.
