Abstract

This Curricular Integration Work is part of a macro project that seeks to collect the rural religious heritage of the Riobamba canton, in this case, the objective is to compile graphic and textual information on the religious images of the main temples of the eleven rural parithes of Riobamba. To conduct this work a previous investigation was carried out to know details to understand the religious art wealth from the oldest temples in the center of the counto Taking into account that he first city with inhabitants of a Spanish colony settled in the arca, therefore, here, rest the first religious vestiges and relics in the country. Advantageously, there are mages frum the loth century brought directly from Spanish temples. Unfortunatch, knowing the authors of these works that are so important for the country is complicated by the antiquity of the images. Most of them are brought by evangelization missions which allow knowing their origin. To reach local religious art on a massive scale an informative catalog has heen designed, with information about religious images sectioned by parish and temple compiled directly from the priests of each parish through local archives or stories that have been passed down from generation to sencration.
