Sistema tipográfico inspirado en manifestaciones culturales ergológicas estéticas de Riobamba.

Abstract

The project's purpose wns to create a typographic system inspired by the most representative aesthetic ergological cultural manifestations in Riobamba city. Two means of information collecting were used documentary and field research. In addition, the deductive research method, where rescarch techniques and instruments were applied through observation and interviews using documentation sheets. Observation and intervicws with specialists in the subject were carried out, through the application of a questionnaire with open questions. For the design process. a design methodology was used to synthesize information, brainstorm, and collect visual references such as photographs; to create the grid, and abstract about the cultural manifestations to be applied in souvenirs which were created according to the target audience, the budget, and the advertising objective. The investigation found that Art in Riobamba has been influenced since the time of the conquest, giving religious art as an inheritance. In addition, musical instruments were made with organic material of plant and animal origin, likewise, the crafts were of cultural skill and combined with Spanish techniques, and finally, the omaments were created ta be traded to habitants and visitors as tourist souvenirs. Bnsed on what was found three typographic families were crealed and later applied in visual supports, creating small illustrations of musical instruments. Thiere is a variety ofobjects made in Riohamba: it is recommended to become aware of the cultural richness, useful for any type of project, valuing what people do as an identity resource at a national and international level, and one must fight to maintain it far the following generations.
