Abstract

The objective of this degree work was the design of a fiber optic network with GPON technology to provide internet service to the Quimiag parroquia which belong to the Riobamba canton. For the analysis and design of the network, a simulation of the behavior of the network was carried out in the OptySystem Software, in which different performance parameters were validated, such as the transmission speed, the transmission power between the closest and most distant users of the OLT. It was important to highlight that the transfer rate, as well as the power delivered, must be similar to the values set by the ITU-T G.984.2 standard. For the design of the network, the MANGAS connection with a transmission capacity of 1:4 for the distribution network and NAPS with transmission capacity of 1:16 for the dispersion network. Single-mode fiber with aerial connection through the poles was used, the equipment that was used in the design is HUAWEI brand. The network design was viable and has the ability to be fully scalable for new common services in GPON technology, such as voice, video and data, in addition to complying with the G.984.2 standard for GPON FTTH networks, the design It presents a robust communication system with high availability. It is recommended to implement power attenuators in order to mitigate any type of noise that occurs during transmission; In addition, network designs should always be worked with a scale of 1:1 to obtain real values of the service and exact calculation of distances.
