Determinación de problemas relacionados con los medicamentos en recetas médicas de “Reina del Cisne Farmacias” en la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

The research project was carried out at REINA DEL CISNE FARMACIAS. Medication-Related Problems (DRP) are undesirable events related to the inappropriate use of medications, which will negatively interfere with the health of patients. The objective of this study was to determine the PRMs in medical prescriptions of "REINA DEL CISNE FARMACIAS" in the city of Riobamba, during the period April – August 2023. As for the methodology, a quantitative approach, a non-experimental field, was of cross-sectional design and descriptive level; The sample that was taken was of 113 medical prescriptions, for the tabulation of data an Excel matrix was made where it was obtained that 64.84% were adults, women prevailing with 56.34%, being mostly of mestizo ethnicity with 70.42%, the most consumed medications were NSAIDs with 24.26%, followed by antibiotics with 22.37% and finally analgesics with 12.40%. in the prescription indicators, prescriptions corresponded to a polypharmacy, being 82.48% prescribed by their generic name and 65.5% were in the basic list of medications, the PRMs that had the highest prevalence were due to prescription errors with 93.53%. In conclusion, in Ecuador the age group that prevailed were adults, being mostly women, who consumed a greater amount of NSAIDs, being polymedicated, in the prescriptions the drugs were prescribed by the generic name and the problems that mostly originated were due to the non-compliance with the structure of the prescription.
