Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de un peaje en la vía colectora E487. Caso de estudio: tramo Colta - Pallatanga

Abstract

The feasibility study for implementing a toll on the E487 collector road, case study: Colta - Pallatanga section, aimed to determine the need to implement a toll on the Colta - Pallatanga road. The research was carried out using the qualitative method through the application of the interview, vehicle gauges, and observation sheets related to the road system; on the other hand, it was of an analytical and synthetic nature since it allowed the collection of information from the parties involved individually and then grouped. This is why the technical study was applied, and the optimal location for the implementation of the toll was identified. With the information gathered, the Juan de Velasco sector was determined because it meets the requirements, such as TPDA greater than or equal to 4,000 vehicles, a longitudinal tangent of at least 600 meters, a minimum distance of 50 km from the last toll concession, an elevation slope of less than or equal to 5%, and availability of essential services. Based on the studies, it was concluded that the vehicular flow and the excellent condition of the road are adequate for the implementation of a toll, thereby opening sources of employment and the creation of new businesses; therefore, this would improve the economy of the sector, reducing costs in vehicle maintenance and especially with the application of routine and periodic maintenance avoids excessive expenses in the rehabilitation of the road, In addition to this, it will be economically and financially profitable, which is why the project is applicable and the authorities of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Chimborazo, MTOP, or the different road concessions for their respective analysis and to develop this study.ç
