Estudio de factibilidad para la ampliación del Centro de Revisión Técnica Vehicular del GAD municipal de Penipe

Abstract

This research was carried out in the Decentralised Autonomous Government (GAD) of the Penipe canton due to the lack of services provided by the Vehicle Technical Inspection Centre (CRTV) since, in recent years, the demand for vehicles has increased, and the capacity of the technical line is not sufficient. For this reason, a feasibility study was carried out to expand the Vehicle Technical Inspection Centre of the Penipe Municipal Government. The methodology implemented has a mixed approach: a quantitative approach due to the application of a survey addressed to the collaborators and another one to the users of the center; a qualitative approach due to the interview with the director of the center and the observation sheets used for the processes and physical facilities. Once the results were obtained, it was determined that the center offers four services, which were analyzed, and the process with the highest demand was the renewal process. Regarding time, 37% of users have a waiting time between 30 minutes and 1 hour. It was concluded that the CRTV has a budget allocation for projects related to traffic and registration and that its infrastructure complies with the expansion regulations. Furthermore, during the development of the feasibility project, the financial indicators showed that each decision criterion was met, proving that an expansion of CRTV in Penipe was feasible.
