| dc.description | Los productos cosméticos son elaborados con componentes químicos que resultan peligrosos para el ser humano porque provocar diversos problemas cutáneos. El objetivo del presente estudio fue realizar la formulación y control de calidad de jabón corporal a base de Matricaria recutita L. (manzanilla) y Thymus vulgaris L. (tomillo), mediante una investigación de tipo experimental. La población de estudio fueron las partes aéreas de las plantas y para el análisis se procedió en cuatro etapas: se determinó la calidad del material vegetal, evaluó parámetros de calidad de los extractos, identificaron metabolitos secundarios y se realizó el control de calidad del jabón corporal con la norma técnica NTE INEN 841. Como resultados se obtuvo que, al evaluar la calidad del material vegetal Thymus vulgaria L. y Matricaria recutita L presentaron valores de humedad de 7,162% y 8,902%, cenizas totales de 7,650% y 5,070%, cenizas solubles en agua de 3,220% y 3,100% y cenizas insolubles en ácido clorhídrico de 1,560% y 2,000% respectivamente. Al evaluar la calidad de los extractos de Matricaria recutita L. y Thymus vulgaris L. se obtuvo una densidad de 0,901 g/ml y 0,871 g/ml y sólidos totales de 1,840% y 1,480% respectivamente. En cuanto a los metabolitos secundarios de los extractos hidroalcohólicos, se identificó: taninos, azúcares reductores, alcaloides, antocianos y quinonas en la manzanilla, mientras que, en el tomillo se evidenció azúcares, flavonoides, alcaloides y esteroides. Finalmente, al evaluar la calidad de la formulación ideal del jabón se observó un pH adecuado (7,55), índice de espuma de 3,5 ml, color y olor característico, adherible a la piel y en el análisis microbiológico hubo ausencia de patógenos. Se concluyó que, el jabón corporal a base de Matricaria recutita L. y Thymus vulgaris L. cumplió con los parámetros de calidad físico químicos y microbiológicos de la normativa de jabón de tocador. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Cosmetic products are made with chemical components that can be dangerous for humans as they cause various skin problems. The aim of this study was to formulate and perform quality control of a body soap based on Matricaria recutita L. (chamomile) and Thymus vulgaris L. (thyme) through experimental research. The study population consisted of the aerial parts of the plants, and the analysis proceeded in four stages: determining the quality of the plant material, evaluating the quality parameters of the extracts, identifying secondary metabolites, and conducting quality control of the body soap according to the NTE INEN 841 technical standard. The results showed that the quality evaluation of the plant material revealed Thymus vulgaris L. and Matricaria recutita L. had moisture values of 7.162% and 8.902%, total ash of 7.650% and 5.070%, water-soluble ash of 3.220% and 3.100%, and hydrochloric acid-insoluble ash of 1.560% and 2.000% respectively. The quality evaluation of the extracts of Matricaria recutita L. and Thymus vulgaris L. resulted in a density of 0.901 g/ml and 0.871 g/ml, and total solids of 1.840% and 1.480% respectively. As for the secondary metabolites of the hydroalcoholic extracts, tannins, reducing sugars, alkaloids, anthocyanins, and quinones were identified in chamomile, while thyme showed the presence of sugars, flavonoids, alkaloids, and steroids. Finally, evaluating the quality of the ideal soap formulation revealed an appropriate pH (7.55), a foam index of 3.5 ml, characteristic color and odor, adherence to the skin, and the microbiological analysis showed no pathogens.
