Análisis Estadístico Multivariante de la Producción Agrícola en la Provincia de Bolívar para Identificar Zonas Homogéneas Respecto a los Principales Productos que se Cultivan.

Abstract

The present research work assumes the task of making a statistical study of the agricultural production in the Province of Bolivar, since so far there are no known technical statistical studies related to this activity. With the help of the database provided by SINAGAP of this province, a multivariate statistical analysis of agricultural production was carried out to identify homogeneous zones with respect to the main products grown. With the application of multivariate statistical techniques, six groups of zones with similar production characteristics were detected, with the first cluster comprising 75% of the zones under study where the following crops prevail: Soft Corn, Barley, Wheat, Potato, Rice, Hard Corn and Cocoa. The results of the study show that Orange, Barley, Wheat, Potato, Soft Corn and Cocoa are the most important crops. Finally, this research constitutes a first contribution to the knowledge of what happens with the agricultural production in the Province of Bolivar and at the same time it is suggested to promote future statistical research not only in the area of agriculture but also in the areas of livestock, aquaculture and fishing.
