Abstract : Design and Application of a Pharmacotherapeutic Protocol for the Control of Drug Interactions in the Outpatient Area of the Pediatric Hospital Alfonso Villagomez-Riobamba. The Methods used were the Deductive Method which allowed us to analyze the data collected with the help of the Clinical Histories, surveys, interviews, Pharmacotherapeutic Profile and the respective Follow-up to the patients, Analytical Method which consisted in the investigation of a problem, This method allowed us to learn more about the problem and establish solutions, the study was conducted in 300 patients in the period May-November 2011, the materials used were medical records, surveys, interviews, pharmacotherapeutic profile, computer, printer, copier, flash memory, digital camera, telephone, spheres. As a result, 200 patients underwent Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up, of which 70 patients presented Drug-Drug Interaction, among which we have Drug-Drug 52%, Drug-Food 35%, while Drug-Plant Interaction 12%, Subsequently, the Pharmacotherapeutic Protocol was applied to 100 patients who were evaluated and underwent Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up, obtaining as a result a decrease in the number of Interactions during the period September-November 2011, Drug-Drug Interaction 3%, Drug-Food Interaction 2%, Drug-Plant Interaction 1%, and 94% did not present any Interaction. I conclude by saying that the application of the Protocol for the Control of Drug-Drug Interactions contributed positively to the patient's health. It is recommended that the method be permanently implemented in the Alfonso Villagomez Pediatric Hospital in the city of Riobamba, and that similar systems be implemented in the different areas of the Hospital.
Resumen : Diseño y Aplicación de un Protocolo Farmacoterapeutico para Control de Interacciones Medicamentosas en el Área de Consulta Externa del ?Hospital Pediátrico Alfonso Villagomez-Riobamba?. Los Métodos utilizados fueron el Método Deductivo el cual nos permitió analizar los datos recopilados con la ayuda de las Historias Clínicas, encuestas, entrevistas, Perfil farmacoterapeutico y el respectivo Seguimiento a los pacientes, Método Analítico que consistió en la investigación de un problema, este método nos permitió conocer más el problema y establecer soluciones, el estudio se realizó en 300 pacientes en el Periodo Mayo-Noviembre 2011, los materiales utilizados fueron Historias Clínicas, encuestas, entrevistas, Perfil farmacoterapeutico,Computador,Impresora, Copiadora ,Flash memory ,Cámara digital, Teléfono, Esferos. Como resultado se obtuvo que a 200 pacientes se les realizo el Seguimiento Farmacoterapeutico de los cuales 70 pacientes presentan Interacción Medicamentosa dentro de las cuales tenemos Medicamento-Medicamento 52%, Medicamento-Alimento 35%, mientras que la Interacción Medicamento-Planta 12%, posteriormente se aplicó el Protocolo Farmacoterapeutico en 100 pacientes los cuales fueron evaluados y se le realizo el Seguimiento Farmacoterapeutico, obteniendo como resultado la disminución de las Interacciones durante el Periodo Septiembre-Noviembre 2011, Interacción Medicamento-Medicamento 3% que, Interacción Medicamento-Alimento 2%, Interacción Medicamento-Planta 1%, y el 94% no presento ninguna Interacción. Concluyo diciendo que la Aplicación del Protocolo para Control de Interacciones Medicamentosas contribuyo positivamente en la salud del paciente, se recomienda que el Método se Implemente permanentemente en el Hospital Pediátrico Alfonso Villagomez de la ciudad de Riobamba, se implemente sistemas similares en las diferentes Áreas del Hospital.
