Implementación de un Sistema de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales Provenientes de las Porquerizas en la Comunidad de San Martín de Veranillo Utilizando Tamuz Comercial

Abstract

A wastewater treatment plant was designed for the wastewater from the swine farms in the community of San Martin de Veranillo, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province, using commercial Tamuz. Using research, experimental and technological methods such as: Environmental Impact Study and Tamuz dosage tests, we designed a treatment plant to reduce the organic load of the washing waters of the piggeries discharged in the cultivation soils. The greatest negative environmental impact affecting the inhabitants of the sector is the Final Wastewater Disposal with a value of -35.07, the wastewater analysis exceeds the permissible limits of the TULAS standards. With the results of the flow measurement and dosage tests of Tamuz, we designed: a collection tank with a 1 cm diameter grid to retain solids; a treatment tank of 11 m3, 4.5 m long, 1.7 m wide and 1.5 m high in which the wastewater will react with the Tamuz; an upflow anaerobic filter of 2.5 m3, 1 m long, 1.7 m wide and 1.5 m high to retain suspended solids. We concluded that the treatment plant reduces 95.50% of the pollutant load, complying with the permissible limits of the TULAS standards for agricultural use or discharges to the sewage system. It is recommended that when executing the project, the procedures of the management manual be considered to guarantee the correct operation of the treatment plant.
