Evaluación de un sistema de inseminación artificial mixto, mediante el uso de sondas de doble doposición seminal en cerdas multíparas

Abstract

The present essay has been carried out in the Center for Genetic Transference "REPROGENES" and Associated Farms which is located on the way to the city of Guano km 21½in San Antonio de las Abras, in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo Province. It lasted 150 days. A mixed artificial insemination system through the. use of seminal double-lumen deposition catheters was evaluated in multiparous pigs and it was compared against the artificial Post cervical conventional insemination system and artificial Deep intrauterine insemination. For this, a female mestizo multiparous swine of Landrace - York breed was utilized per treatment with fifteen repetitions per treatment; this yielded a total of 60 fernale pigs for the experiment. These treatments were distributed in a randomized block design. The best reproductive parameters concerning conception rate (100%), fertility (100%), and prolificacy (13.73); the best productive parameters concerning end of pregnancy weight (185.20 kg), offspring weight (16.77 kg) were determined, and the best benefit-cost ratio of USD 1.75 was reached when the mixed artificial insemination system through the use of seminal double-lumen deposition catheters was applied with 50 ml of semen and 1,5x10 ° sperm cells. It is, therefore, recommended to use this system in multiparous female swine of Landrace York breed since the best reproductive an productive results were reached in this experiment.
