Plan de desarrollo turístico sostenible para la parroquia San Luis, cantón Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

This research proposes to develop a plan for a sustainable tourism development for San Luis, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province. This by collecting primary and secondary information, field trips and participatory workshops. This, through a situational diagnosis of the territory of the spatial, physical territorial ecological areas, cultural, economic productive and political administrative. The attractions inventory identifies 4 natural sites and 3 cultural events. These will be ordered following the methodology of MINTUR 2004. There are no attractions of this hierarchy III, 3 attractions are hierarchy II and 4 attractions are hierarchy I. By conducting a research market profile was determined that national tourist and foreigners are willing to visit San Luis as well as possible lines of touristic products developed based on the analysis of competition and confrontation of supply vs. demand. Within the situational analysis were identified institutions linked to the tourism sector of the area and were also developed the CPES and SWOT matrices to identify the different aspects to improve in the area of San Luis. Finally are raised four programs and eleven projects to strengthen the development of sustainable tourism. These involve areas: cultural, tourist and environmental partner, requiring an investment of $ 329,691.10 for the implementation. It is concluded that the implementation of the plan is feasible and will contribute to improving the quality of life of local people by exploiting touristic cultural potential.
