Desarrollo de una Aplicación Web que Automatice el Control Docente en la Unidad Educativa Sucúa.

Abstract

The developmen of the computer system SICONDC was implemented as part of the analysis of the Teacher Management process carried out by the Sucúa Education Unit in the City of Sucúa, Morona Santiago Province. The evaluation was conduced with the objetive of identifying problems that are barrier to the Administration department operating more efficiently. The analysis was conduced through interviews with the key players involved in Teacher Management at the educational unit, by which it was posible to detect the following problems: Inconsistency of data, loss of information, disorganization and slow delivery of reports. As a conclution, it was determined that the most pressing problema was the slow delivery of reports rresponding to the registration of Micro-curriculum Advances and monitoring of subject planning. As result, the idea came about to develop a web application to facilitate and to obtain reports within a short time-period. In order to develop the proposed web application, it was decided to use the Framework Symfony2, which is a complete Model View Controller framework, and contains an enormous set of tolos and utilities that enables the rapid creation of a web application, without compromising on any aspect of Software quality. Furthermore, the use of an agile methos such as Craig Larman was proposed for the Project management of development software, a method that ensures the best fit for the development needs of such systems. The SICONDC system will contain the following modules: Registration: This module allows for the management of information corresponding to specialties, courses, subjects, parallels and class schedules. Teachers: This module will be responsible for managing teacher information, assignig subjects, registering plans and registering micro-curriculum advances. Reports: This module will be responsible for generating reports in PDF format. To conclude, the SICONDC system was implemented in the Hosting of the Illustrious Sucúa Canton Municipality, ready to be used by the Institution in the upcoming new academic period.
