Propuesta de modelo de gestión de información y conocimiento en el marco de un Observatorio Turístico Cantonal en la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

This project is a model of Information and Knowledge Management within the framewok of a Cantonal Tourist Observatory in the city of Riobamba. It was held in the same city using the comparative method to make variables of cases of information management and knowledge of national an international tourist observatories, through qualitative method and structured interviews were identified some information needs and knowledge of local tourism stakeholders was identified by the analytical method, the organizational structure of the management model was proposed as well. A comparative matrix of 2 cases of tourism observatories in Peru and Galapagos proposal were used as good examples, the survey results showed an acceptance of 80% of local actors to alternative tourist Observatory, this included the profile of services and products, pricing, process flow diagram, alternative financing and strategic alliances. It is concluded that this researchcould become a management tool capable of generating timely information and knowledge for making strategic decisions in the tourism sector. It is recommended that the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo could take the iniciative and responsibility for coordinating interagency work fot the creation of the tourist observatory.
