Evaluación del comportamiento forrajero de tres variedades de festulolium con tres tipos de estiércol en la Estación Experimental Tunshi

Abstract

In Chimborazo province, Experimental Station of Tunshi, Cattle and Livestock Faculty, ESPOCH, three types of manure (goat, ovine and rabbit manure) were evaluated in the forage production of three varieties of Festulolium (Spring Green, Duo, Lofa); the experimental results were tabulated under a completely at Random Block Bi-factorial Design. 48 units with three treatments were used for the Factor A (Festulolium varieties) and 4 treatments for the factor B (manure types). With the results it was established that the best results of height (38,53 cm), basal coverage (43,60%), aerial (90,51%) and forage production both in green (5,47 Tn/FV/ha cutting) and in DM (1,39 Tn/FV/ha cutting) at 15, 30 and 45 days was obtained in the Duo variety taking into consideration that it is a hybrid of easy adaptation to the zone conditions. As to the forage production valuation of the different varieties of Festulolium it is thought that upon fertilizing with goat manure the highest height results, basal coverage, green forage production and dry matter are produced while for the aerial coverage, the ovine manure shows to be the one in both, in production and quality. The soil analysis before and after fertilization shows a significant change in the nutrient content as there was a nitrogen, phosphorus and organic matter increase. Economically, the best treatment was that upon applying goat manure in the Duo variety as it records a benefit- cost of 1,89 USD.
