Utilización de diferentes niveles de un promotor de crecimiento en cavia porcellus (Cuyes) en la etapa de crecimiento y engorde

Abstract

In the hatchery San Vicente, located in the Neighborhood San Vicente de Lacas, Country Riobamba of the Province of Chimborazo, the effect of usage of three levels (0,20; 0,40; 0,60 ml), of Boldenone Undecylinate was used, to be compared with a control treatment, a Fully Randon Design was applied in a combinatory array of two factors, where the factor A, were the levels of Boldenone Undecylinate, and the factor B, the genre wirh five repetitions and the Size of the Experimental Unit (SEU) was of two animals per pond. By determining that with the usage of 0,60 ml of Boldenone Undecylinate were reached better final weights (1288,20 g), increase of weights (942,40 g), efficiency in the feeding conversion (4,42), weight to the chanenl (1055,50 g), as well as the performance to the channel with averages of 82,20%, without the comsumtion of feeding be increased; presenting also less costs of production and the bigger economic profitability (B/C 1,56), that with the rest of treatments. Based on the genre factor the weight of the Guinea pigs at the end does not present statistic differences (P>0,05) among the treatments but it was found slight numerical differences since the male Guinea pigs reached a final weight of 1161,80 g meanwhile the female recorded a final weight of 1156,00 g. That is why the usage of Boldenone Undecylinate as developer of growth did not affect the biological behavior of the Guinea pigs. In consequence, it is recommended to use 0,6 ml de Boldenone Undecylinate as developer of growth during the stage of growth and fatting in Guines Pigs, since it presented better productive and economic outcomes.
