Fabricación de papel orgánico artesanal con fibra de Astrocaryum Chambira. Aplicación en packaging para productos artesanales en la comunidad Limoncocha.

Abstract

The present work consisted in the elaboration of paper craft, for the creation of a system of packaging, that allows the community of Limoncocha to offer their handicrafts with an added value as cultural identification to all its visitors. For papermaking, the fiber of Chambira (Astrocaryum aculeatum) located in the Amazon of Ecuador was used as raw material. The cooking technique was used for an estimated time of 2 hours, which causes the fiber to soften and easily disintegrate. The fiber was ground to be manageable. Chemicals such as titanium dioxide and chlorine were used for the bleaching of the raw material, and to be compacted and resistant it was mixed with glycerin, gum and resin. In the drying of the fiber to obtain the paper samples, wooden frames and tempered organza fabric were used, which is suitable for this type of processes. Several samples were elaborated with Chambira fiber, until reaching a suitable and useful paper, resulting in several sheets of different textures and grammages, suitable for the elaboration of packaging and labels, characteristics that support the use of the fiber for the manufacture And packing of the artisan products of the community Limoncocha. There was acceptance of 72% of the packaging presented to the artisans, who considered them to be functional, aesthetic, contribute to the ecology, and interested the national and foreign tourists. It was concluded that the packaging system has the necessary resources as physical protection, barrier protection, information and transmission, marketing, security and convenience, to maintain the identity and culture of the community of Limoncocha, allowing a positive impact in the commercialization of Crafts It is recommended to reforest the forests with Astrocaryum, allowing to maintain the ecological reserve of the community of Limoncocha.
