Plan estratégico de desarrollo turístico sostenible para la organización Inti Churi , parroquia Veintimilla, cantón Guaranda, provincia de Bolívar

Abstract

The aim of this present research study was to develop a Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development for the Inti Churi Organization, Veintimilla Parish, Guaranda, Bolívar Province. The Strategic Plan has five stages; the first corresponded to a situational diagnosis across five areas: physical-spatial, ecological-territorial, socio-cultural, economic-productive and political-administrative. The second stage included the inventory of natural and cultural attractions, with a total of 11 natural attractions: 5 from level I and 6 from level II and 4 cultural attractions. Thus there are resources for tourism purposes. The next stage consisted of a market study which was carried out in Riobamba and Guaranda determining that the average tourist is 30 years old, travels with their family, stays for the one day and has a product acceptance rate of 94%. The fourth stage comprises of the philosophical phase which is determined by the CPES matrix, mission statement, mission, values, policies, strategies and strategic objectives – elements that ensure the proper fulfillment of the plan. The last stage consisted of the formulation of 5 programs and 22 projects with the priority being the conservation and revitalization of natural resources, improvement of the basic infrastructure, provision of the tourist concept and the strengthening of tourist superstructure with an approximate timeline of five years and a total cost of 566.405,00 USD. The Inti Churi Organization possesses a natural and cultural tourist potential capable of attractiving a new wave of tourism and has an excellent geographic location with respect to the Reserva de Producción Faunística (Fauna Production Reserve) Chimborazo, which makes it well situated to enter into sustainable tourist activity aimed at improving life for the local population.
