Se concluyó que el estudio carpológico ayudó a la recuperación de los saberes ancestrales de la comunidad Joyagshi por lo que se recomienda continuar con futuras investigaciones. dc.description.abstractThe present investigation proposes: elaborating a carpological study of the actual and pre-colombian flora of the Joyagshi community, Llagos parish, Chunchi canton, Chimborazo province through the use of applicable and experimental methods and employing techniques of bibliography investigation and field ones for the information surveying. The work consisted of the three stages: the first one dealt with inventorying the flora through the diagnosis of the study area determining that the place belongs to the low montane always green forest with black Andean soils with a great capacity of water retention, 170 ha. of the community and 5 ha. of the study in which, through lineal transepts 44 vegetal species were identified; after that, 6 seed species were collected at random for their further comparison. The second one, through the archeo-botanic evaluation, the information of etnohistorical and ethnographic sources was surveyed. One archeologic ore was recorded with an agricultural functionality; with probing, vegetal carbon and ceramics fragments were identified with 6 styles (rough granulated tawny 18%, finished ocher 10%, finished orange 7%, engobated orange 3%, ocher over tawny 2%, black over tawny 2%). In the third one, the carpological characterization of the actual biodiversity was carried out taking into account variables such as, order, gender, scientific name and family; through the preterit identification seeds of spinach, amaranth and clover were recognized predominating those belonging to the Amaranthaceae family found in the first level. It was concluded that the carpological study helped the recovery on the ancestral knowledge of the Joyagshi community; this is why it is recommended for the further investigations.
