Propuesta de desarrollo económico enfocado al ámbito turístico del Camino del Inca Tramo Achupallas-Pistishi

Abstract

The current investigation aims to elaborate a proposal for economic development focused on the touristic scope of the Camino del Inca, Achupallas – Pistishi stretch; ranging from a socio-organizational, economic and productive diagnosis, which facilitate the elaboration of a base-line to become acquainted whith the reality of the territory in aspects such as basic services, public and private institutions and NGOs that work in the territory, productive activities of mayor importance, high production agricultural and livestock products, and existing attractions. A SWOT analysis is performed for each component of the tourist system; basic infrastructure, resources and attractions, tourist plant, tourist superstructure, tourist infrastructure and complementary supply, tools that allows us to determine critical nodes and key factores for succes, with the purpose of enhancing existing strenghthas and mitigating weaknesses. Six programs are considered that would take advantage of the daily activities of the people to develop tourism, like culinary and dairy product festivals, improving the quality of basic services, increasing the tourist plan in Achupallas and Pistishi, the latter being one of the Parishes with greater touristic development since it counts with a community restaurant and a natural lookout pointfrom where you can appreciate “La Nariz del Diablo” and the Sibambe train station, in addition to offering activities such as cycling and horseback riding, for which it is proposed to implement appropriate signage and trail delmination. The improvement of the basic infrastructure iin order toguarantee the quality of life. It is concluded that new job sources should be created to improve the income of the inhabitants, reduce the migration índices and increase the economically active population of the canton, promoting the right to good living
