Abstract : This research had as an objective to identify the art and design compositions inspired in The Chaos Theory as well as to apply the strange attractors in design elements in the area of apparel and fashion area. The next hypothesis was raised: "The strange attractors of the Chaos Theory are a source of inspiration to generate innovative compositions in the apparel and fashion area". A type of descriptive research with mixed variables was used due to not only the qualities found were described, but also it was quantitatively demonstrated if it meets the parameters of a chaotic system. It was reached by identifying qualitatively the common characteristics that the chaotic systems with existent designs have. A table was created to qualify the percentage of similarity with the chaotic systems, the formula (D= Log.S/Log L) was applied which allowed to identify the fractal dimension. To identify the designs to be considered for the analysis, it was applied the deductive method that began with a brief analysis about the most recognized designers, architects and artists in the work environment. Based on the analysis, it was determined that every nine of ten designers would use the strange attractors of The Chaos Theory as an inspiration source for the apparel and fashion area due to these figures provoke evocations that vary according to its forms and colors, which allows to reach the study hypothesis raised at the beginning of the research. The use of strange attractors in the creation of clothing and textiles may set a trend in innovative fashion that disengages the common fashion principles we daily observe. It is recommended the use of Augmented Reality to maximize the visual impact of all the diverse designs of clothing and textile.
