Estudio de Factibilidad del sistema operacional del Terminal Intercantonal del cantón Riobamba y su incidencia en la calidad de servicio que se ofrece a los usuarios

Abstract

The feasibility study of the operational system of the inter-cantonal bus station of the canton Riobamba and its impact on the quality of service offered to users aims to improve the operation management in the vehicle fleet, infrastructure, and administrative management and therefore provide a high-quality service. This research was carried out using the analytical and synthetic method, which allows an analysis of the most relevant characteristics both in the functionality of the inter-cantonal bus station and the service it offers. In order to gather the information, it was used user and driver surveys, observation cards, passenger loading and unloading gauges that served as support to identify the inconveniences that happen in this bus station. Once the information obtained was processed, results determined that passengers do not go to this bus station to use the transport service. In addition, the infrastructure does not have the necessary requirements for its operation, so users are not satisfied with the level of service offered by this bus station. It is concluded that the operational system of the inter-cantonal bus station does not have the minimum requirements for its proper functioning. It is recommended the redesign of the bus station infrastructure and the redesign of urban transport routes and frequencies so that users can have greater accessibility to this bus station.
