The objective of the research work was to determine the absorption capacity of two plant species: “buchón de agua” (Limnocharis Flava) and “Muñequita de agua” (Hydrocotyle Bonariensis) in contaminated water with lead. It contaminated 10 L of distilled water with 0, 16; 0, 32; 0, 48 of Pb (NO3)2 to reach 10, 20 and 30 ppm of concentration and evaluated the absorption capacity, then the water was added directly in the containers. After that, it made a final analysis of water, soil, and plant at the beginning and after 60 days, determining the Pb, whose date were tabulated with the Chi-square method. The results of the initial concentrations of Pb in the samples of contaminated water were: R-10-BA; MA (9,92); R-20-BA; MA (19,97); R-30-BA; MA (29,90). The final concentrations of Pb in the wetland with the plant “ buchón de agua” were the following: 1,3 ppm, 2,96 ppm, 6,78 ppm respectively and in the weatland treated with “muñequita de agua”, whose final concentration was 0,4 ppm, 1,19 ppm and 3,38 ppm. The final concentration of lead with the treatment of the plant species “buchón de agua” (Limnocharis Flava) R-10-BA showed absorption of 86%, followed by the treatment R-20-BA with absorption of 85% and R-30-BA gave absorption of 77% while “Muñequita de agua” (Hydrocotyle Bonariensis) R-10-MA reached absorption of 96% , followed by the treatment R20-MA with absorption of 94% and R-30-MA presented absorption of 89%; therefore the latter presents a greater absorption, that is why, it is concluded that it is the Appropriate species for the treatment of contaminated water with Pb. Finally, it is recommended in the adaptation phase to espose the plants to solar radiation so that, they do not wilt and clean the system every week to prevent the growth of invasive species.es_ES
