Diseño y formulación de un sistema de seguridad y salud ocupacional en base a la ISO 18001:2007 para el Cuerpo de Bomberos de la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

The objetive of the present research work was to desing and formulate a safety and occupational health system based on the ISO 18001:2007 for the firefighter department of Riobamba canton. The system is a guideline for the analysis of the most important aspects of Occupational Health and Security. An inductive-deductive method was applied for this study, with an exploratory, descriptive and explanatory investigation, through a questionnaire applied to all institutional personnel to obtain the current situation diagnosis, and to detect the problems to be solved. As a result, it was detected that the firefighter department of Riobamba does not have a Safety and Occupational Health System and S&SO policies and objetive either. Thus, most of the personnel members are absolutely unfamiliar with the subjet. Consequently, the application of the present proposal will help fostering the participation of the personnel in the training programs as well as with the socialization to comply with the prosed shedule, dates and times. This, will assist with the compliance, verification, continuous improvement, and follow up of documented procedures, thus allowing to carry out an effective control of the system requirements.
