It was proposed the design of iconographic modular patterns of the Puruhá culture, applying utilitarian objects for the home, by means of serigraphy. The starting point was the collection of information made through bibliographic and field research through the observation technique and the interview; made in the museum of: Cacha, Quebrada de Chalán, Guano, Benjamin Carrión House of Culture, Casa Escobar Collection, belonging to the province of Chimborazo; besides the objects that were found in the book Pre-Hispanic Anthropology of Ecuador. The qualitative approach was proposed for the investigation, due to the analysis of the iconographic characteristics of the ceramic objects. Historical research was carried out, which allowed the gathering of information about the origin of the Puruhá culture; the proposed methods of investigation were the dialectic historical method and the synthetic analytical method, the first because through it primary and secondary information was obtained, and the second one was applied because it facilitates the analysis of the graphic elements of the objects, which were classified as legible, little legible, broken and those that did not contain designs. Once the information was collected, the design stage began, with the graphic elements considered legible, the Horst Rittel methodology was applied, due to its characteristics and design processes. Compositional laws and design fundamentals were used to obtain new modular patterns and with the final designs, they were transformed into utilitarian objects for the home through screen printing, in order to link the functional object, the design and the culture, in the daily use of people. These designs are based on a process of research, and design, that gave cultural and conceptual value to new forms of iconographic interpretation, based on the characteristics of the ceramic objects that were analyzed.es_ES
