Análisis de composición faunística de vertebrados terrestres, en los ecosistemas herbazal inundable de páramo, bosque siempre verde de páramo y herbazal ultra húmedo subnival de páramo, con fines de aprovechamiento turístico en la Reserva de Producción de Fauna Chimborazo.

Abstract

The present research proposes: to analyze the fauna composition of terrestrial vertebrates, in the floodplain grassland ecosystems of the moorland, evergreen moorland forest and ultra humid grassland subnival of moorland, as there is a small amount of literature on similar topics at the level of the Andes. It has been proposed to collect primary information through field trips to the floodplain grassland ecosystems, evergreen moorland forest and ultra humid grassland subnival of moorland that are located within the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve, then to describe and analyze the terrestrial fauna that it inhabits the three ecosystems by means of diversity indexes, in addition its conservation status, and endemism of the species of the site were also identified. The product of this technical titling project was the construction of a complete list of the species that inhabit the three ecosystems, which includes 45 species of which 31 belong to birds, 12 mammals, 1 reptile and 1 amphibian, which are divided into 18 orders and 29 families. In addition to the information obtained in the field, a guide of terrestrial vertebrates of the three RPFCH ecosystems was developed, in order to help and provide information to the tourist and in this way create awareness so that these habitats are preserved. It is concluded that these results could be used to have a greater sense of environmental responsibility, as well as they can also contribute to improve or implement new conservation strategies in the RPFCH.
