The main objective of this research work was to implement a comprehensive risk management plan in the Guaranda Substation of the National Electricity Corporation Bolívar Business Unit (CNEL EP) located in the Guaranda cantón, Bolívar province. The methodology established by the Risk Management Secretary (RMS) was applied, which is made up of five phases. Phase I comprises a general characterization of the substation such as the identification of threats and vulnerabilities such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and the risk of fire. assessed by the Meseri method, the risks to which workers are exposed was assessed using the NTP-330 methodology. Phase II contains the guidelines that must be taken into account for risk reduction. Phase III refers to the management of an institutional emergency. Phase IV contemplates institutional recovery and Phase V comprises guaranteeing the effective implementation of the PIGR through evaluation, validation and monitoring for future improvements. The level of risk against threats was 2.5, which represents a high risk; the fire risk gave a value of P = 3.6, which represents a level of serious risk and which is not acceptable; Among the work risks, the position with the highest number of accidents was taken into account and 3 critics were identified: hit or run by vehicles, work at heights and direct electrical contact. At the end, an evaluation of compliance with the PIGR was carried out, resulting in a percentage greater than 80% of compliance in each of its phases. It is recommended to update the PIGR every two years and train the brigades every 6 months.es_ES
