Análisis de los procedimientos para el aseguramiento de la calidad en radiodiagnóstico médico en el Ecuador

Abstract

The main objective of this qualification work is to analyse the quality controls that are being carried out in the national and international context, for which a qualitative analysis of the literature was chosen, which allows us to have synthesised and clear information on the subject to be dealt with. The most important result of the research was the publication of a scientific article in a journal indexed in the Latindex 2.0 catalogue, which covers three fundamental aspects: the production of X-rays, the biological effects produced by ionising radiation and the main quality controls that should be carried out on the imaging equipment found in the different health establishments in the country, in order to guarantee its correct functioning and provide radiological protection for both the patient and the personnel who are exposed to this type of radiation due to their work situation. The tests described in this research work are the result of a comparison of several bibliographies, considering the minimum procedures that must be carried out to guarantee the correct functioning of the equipment. The data, values and tolerances described in the relevant parts of the different radio diagnostic equipment make it possible to know whether the test performed is acceptable or not. At this point, mechanisms should be created to update and improve the implementation of the processes, based on the Ecuadorian reality, to have a document that facilitates the execution of the different tests for the qualified professional.
