Abstract

The present investigation was developed to produce a documentary short film about the traditional pyrotechnics of Cubijíes parish belonging to Riobamba city. It began with a detailed search for documentary information, and interviews were applied to people from the parish who were aware of pyrotechnic craft and contributed significantly with their fundamental thoughts and knowledge to develop this project. The information was collected and used to develop the technical part of the short film; furthermore, it was possible to generate information about the types of existing fireworks with their characteristics. Subsequently, it proceeded with the technical analysis that allowed it to define the ideal type of short film to transmit the knowledge collected. Next, the audiovisual project was drafted, with the pre-production, production, and post-production design methodology. The pre-production of the short film consisted of elaborate technical and literary scripts and the storyboard. In addition, the filming was planned, taking into account all the materials and implements necessary to carry out the production phase; in this phase, the shots were made with the actors until all scenes were obtained. Finally, the post-production was carried out; it consisted of editing the scenes using Adobe Premiere video software, adding effects, transitions, audio, and songs as well as color and framing corrections, and finally, the rendering of the audiovisual work with formats and resolutions suitable for broadcasting on powerful social networks such as Facebook and YouTube.
