Evaluación de la Calidad en el Sistema de Almacenamiento de Medicamentos que Requieren Cadena de Frío en el Hospital del IESS Ambato.

Abstract

The present investigation dealt with the quality evaluation in the medicine storage system which requires a coldness chain through a daily recording of the refrigeration equipment temperature of special medicines between +2 and +8 %C as indicated by the conservation norm given by the INH (Hygiene National Institute) so that they maintain their pharmacological propertics and know about wheter there is a good storage at the Hospital of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security, Ambato.

“The temperature recording of the refrigeration equipment was carried out with an alcohol thermomcter and data were recorded in daily control shects, through the technique which consisted of introducing the thermometer for 10 minutes in the refrigeration equipment in different points to then record the instrument temperature value and record it in such a control sheet, with the data obtained in cach equipment Temperature vs. Time graphs were elaborated observing that the refrigerators of cach arca maintain temperatures of +5 and +6 “C as an average, presenting stable graphs with no data dispersion; in the cold room, the temperature was maintained between +4 and+5 %C without surpassing the limits established for the refrigeration temperature.

In the evaluation, it was tested that the stored medicines in coldness at the Hospital is relatively good, recommending to daily record the equipment temperature and training the personnel for the medicine storage process which requires a cold chain within the instruction.
