Evaluación del efecto de tres dosis de fertiestim plus en higuerón (Aegiphila ferruginea Hayek & Spruce) en el vivero de la ESPOCH.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the effect of three doses of FertiEstim Plus on the initial dasometric growth of Higuerón (Aegiphila ferruginea Hayek & Spruce) in the ESPOCH forest nursery. To carry out the investigation, it was decided to analyze two factors. The first one (Factor A) being three doses of FertiEstim Plus foliar fertilizer, whose quantities were: 0.7, 1 and 1.3 cm3 dissolved in one liter of water and a control of only water. The second one (factor B) consisting of the frequency of application of the product, these being every: 7, 14 and 21 days. A completely randomized block design was used in a bifactorial arrangement plus a technical control with four repetitions, resulting in the interaction of both factors in 12 study treatments (with 5 plants of Aegiphila ferruginea each), which were located within the umbraculum of the ESPOCH forest nursery. Measurements of the variables were taken: plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm) and number of leaves, before starting the application of the product (to apply a normality test) and at 30, 45 and 60 days that the application started, an analysis was carried out with these data. In addition, a partial economic analysis of the treatments was made. No statistically significant results were obtained between the treatments, but a slight trend was found in the growth averages of the variables towards the combination of the factors: dose of 1.3 cm3 every 7 days. The economic analysis resulted in a profit of 1.49% for T1, making it the most profitable. It was concluded that the times between data collection were too short to show a significant difference between the treatments. So, a longer study period is recommended.
