Diseño e implementación del manual de seguridad y procedimientos individuales de bloqueo y etiquetado (LOTO) para los equipos y máquinas del taller de máquinas y herramientas de la Facultad de Mecánica de la ESPOCH

Abstract

This technical work aimed to design and implement a manual on safety and individual procedures of lockout and Tagout (LOTO) for the equipment and machines of the Machine and Tools Repair shop of the Faculty of Mechanics of ESPOCH; for this purpose, the identification of risks in the machines or equipment was carried out using the qualitative matrix INSHT. Subsequently, the risks identified were assessed using the NTP 330 methodology: the result was that 82% of the total risks assessed belonged to level II, and 18% to level I. Of this group evaluated, 36% of the risks are physical factors, 26% correspond to mechanical risks, 15% belong to ergonomic risks and finally 7% are chemical risks. The results showed the need for the generation and implementation of a safety manual and individual lockout and tagout procedures (LOTO), therefore, the document was socialized with the Occupational Health and Safety Unit and the necessary guidelines were made known to carry out safe lockout and tagout of the machines. It was concluded that the institution required the creation of a safety and individual procedures manual (LOTO) and the implementation of other measures such as the placement of signage on the machines and equipment considered in the blocking and tagging plan, which should include the specific procedure for blocking the machine.
