Implementación de un aplicativo web para la automatización del proceso de certificación del Instituto de Investigación y Estudios Internacionales

Abstract

The Institute for Research and International Studies (IDIEI) manages the certification processes inefficiently, because it works only with forms in Word and Excel, which implies physical storage and manual search of information for each applicant, with this background, The objective of this project was to implement a web application for the automation of the IDIEI certification process. With the BPMN notation, the two certification processes were described: the request of the certification candidate and the certification of people, which were subsequently automated. For this, the Scrumban methodology was used, obtaining 45 user stories divided into 8 sprints. The tools used were PostgreSQL as a database management system, the React and Node.js frameworks and the Object Relational Mapping (ORM) Sequelize. The selected architecture was the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern; Railway software and Netlify software were used to deploy the SICOEC application. To evaluate the quality of the software, the ISO/IEC 25010 standard was used, with a focus on the performance efficiency characteristic, and its sub characteristics: behavior over time, resource utilization and capacity, showing a total efficiency of 90.2. %. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the system meets the client's requirements and it is recommended to use the Microsoft Edge browser for better efficiency in managing the developed application.
